Kim Mattevi: Owner / Head Instructor Kim Mattevi is a practicing fourth degree black belt instructor in Tae Kwon Do and Karate and co-owner of Gary Mattevi's Martial Arts Academy, Inc. Aside from her martial arts training she is a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Rape Prevention Instructor and has participated in the Minnesota Police Defensive Tactics Training. She has personally researched and designed all On Alert Self-defense courses, which are a combination of her professional, personal training and life experiences. Currently she serves as adjunct faculty at Lake Superior College in the Physical Education Department teaching a course entitled "Self-defense for Life" and Karate. In addition to her heavy teaching load at the Martial Arts Academy and personal training, Mrs. Mattevi continues to maintain a busy self-defense seminar schedule for colleges, civic organizations and professional groups.
